Search a topic, or type a masechta and daf like Baitza 2a.
- Shiur 1: Opening Kesuvos: the match made in Heaven
The first shiur on Masechta Kesuvos: what the word kesubah means, why a person's zivug is the one thing he doesn't choose, and why Heaven calls out "the daughter of so-and-so." Why a besulah is married on Wednesday, why our fingers are shaped like pegs that can close the ears, why the chosson and kallah cry under the chuppah, and how even the unborn sang shirah at the Yam Suf.
- Shiur 2: The sheva brachos, and comforting mourners
The brachos said under the chuppah, one at a time: why Hashem made ten chuppos for Adam and Chava, what "sameach tesamach" asks for, and why the last bracha can stand on its own. Then the Gemara turns to the brachos and words of comfort in a house of mourning, the ten cups of wine Chazal once drank there, and how Rabban Gamliel ended costly burials by asking to be buried in simple linen.
- Shiur 3: How one dances before the kallah
The gittin Dovid's soldiers gave before going to war, the blessing "go take what you have acquired," and why a widow is called almanah. What the mizbeach does for Klal Yisrael, when to eat dates, and the three things no person escapes each day. Then the famous question of how one dances before the kallah, the dancing that brought the Shechinah, the song when the Rabbanan gave semicha, and the radiance of a face.
